Taste – For an Occasional Indulgence
Frankly, what is not to like about this place. I don’t visit with any frequency; there is high potential for a lengthy wait (which is when I ditch and go to Brasserie’s bar next door) and gourmet cocktails come at a price. Yet once in a blue moon, it is always a primo experience. Pick out a fun little cocktail and a fun little bite to eat or two – it’s a nice way to cap-off a night or get one going. If you’re lucky enough to get one of the window booths, it’s truly cozy.
On my most recent trip, I was well advised to try the curried cauliflower. Not only was the cauliflower a delicious accompaniment for my warming bourbon concoction (Devil’s Advocate – bourbon, campari, peach bitters, and few other fun things), but it also had the benefit of having been a vegetable before whatever butter/frying maneuver they performed on it.
PS I regret to have found out only recently that Taste has a ‘social hour’ where classic cocktails are $6 all day Sunday and Monday and 5-7 through Tues-Fri. Egad.
